Internationaler ACC

Democracies are under increasing pressure – both from within and from the outside. Around the world, democratic systems are eroding. To respond effectively, we need to connect and collaborate across borders – just as authoritarian and populist movements are doing. 

In this spirit and building on the long-standing tradition of German-American friendship, we invite you to a virtual Transatlantic Democracy Dialogue on April 9, 2026.

We are Fire.Act.Future, a network of changemakers and activists committed to a sustainable and livable future. Our initiative grew out of the Agile Culture Camp community, which promotes dialogue, participation, and transformation across cultures and sectors.

We are more than alarmed by the growing influence of far-right movements in Germany, as well as the recent authoritarian dynamics in the United States. But we also see successful actions against these dynamics. That’s why we’re inviting colleagues from both sides of the Atlantic to join us in a shared space of reflection, connection, and co-creation.

Together, we will explore questions such as:

• How do we perceive the political dynamics in the other country from the outside and what effects do we perceive as a consequence of that in our country and in neighboring countries?
• What do we observe within our own societies and what impact could that have on other countries?
• What practical strategies do we see in defending democracy? What is proving effective?
• How do we sustain ourselves as people who care about democracy, dignity, and solidarity?
• How can we amplify each other’s efforts across national and professional boundaries?
